Many of the Reagan Era Conservatives are devestated. Good. That's what they get for staying home in 2006 to "protest". I have often asked myself, "What would Reagan say about staying home to protest?" Gee...I wonder. The answers are here...have at it. Having read all there is to read about the man that united the Conservative Movement and what he thought about voting, resulting in TWO historical landslides, back-to-back, and you STILL want to stay home to "show those damn RINOs", well, then, you deserve everything that comes your way...just don't drag our troops into the quagmire of your own silliness.
There are honorable men fighting for YOU here at home, having fought for YOU over "there". They are Iraq Vets For Congress. Are YOU going to "stay home" and whine about how much of a RINO McCain is or, are you going to Embrace The Suck and get out and support these men and countless others across the nation? Are YOU going to let them down as they try and defend YOU?
I wrote about this effort back on 1/19/08 and we received TWO comments, one of them mine, and ZERO support from it. This is indicative to lazy people not wanting to sacrifice and FIGHT! We have become a complacent society and a spoiled rotten society. If something doesn't go our way, we pout, run off into our little comfort zone and whine. We "protest" by "staying home". My children used to do that and we are supposed to be adults.
Am I being abrasive? You betcha! Our enemies within are dedicated to bringing socialism to this nation as the ruling tenet. is that what you want? Granted, McCain is NOT by any stretch of the imagination The Man. Is Hillary? Is Obama?
Period.
It isn't about "dumping my principles" that I, holding my nose, will cast a vote NOT for McCain but against Hillary or Obama. That is being principled. Electing members of the House and Senate to keep McCain in a conservative check-mate is our answer to the RNC/GOP.
Period.
Handing the country over to the likes of Hillary, Obama and others of the same ilk so they can have 4 or 8 years of total madness and mayhem and quite possibly MORE terrorist attacks in YOUR home town is beyond ludicrous...it is total insanity...so we can "fix it" in 2012 or 2016 is beyond the pale of selfishness and inconsideration for our troops fighting for YOU and me.

[...] The United States must always stand for peace and liberty in the world and the rights of the individual. We must form sturdy partnerships with our allies for the preservation of freedom. We must be ever willing to negotiate differences, but equally mindful that there are American ideals that cannot be compromised. Given that there are other nations with potentially hostile design, we recognize that we can reach our goals only while maintaining a superior national defense, second to none...Have we forgotten? The time to flush the cretins from The House and Senate is NOW NOW NOW. Staying home is not the answer.
Our task now is not to sell a philosophy, but to make the majority of Americans, who already share that philosophy, see that modern conservatism offers them a political home. We are not a cult, we are members of a majority. Let's act and talk like it.
