In Brooklyn, NY, police found pipe bombs and other weapons and bomb making materials in an apartment after responding to a call from a man stating that he had been shot. Apparently, the wound was self-inflicted.
The "victim" is a suspect in several synagogue and home which were defaced in his Brooklyn neighborhood, police sources said. Ranking officers on the scene were unclear if the materials confiscated in the apartment were going to be used in future assaults.
Officers went to Ivan Ivanov's apartment after he reported being shot on Sunday evening, police said. Investigators, who said the wound to his finger was self-inflicted, discovered what appeared to be a homemade bomb and several other devices and weapons.

A police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the investigation is continuing, said Ivanov told police he planned to use the explosives on a fishing trip, detonating the devices underwater to bring the fish to the surface.
He has been accused of spray-painting anti-Semitic graffiti to three homes, two cars and two Synagogues. Officials proceeded to seize his computer to search files stored on the computer.

During the course of the incident, it is alleged that Ivanov implicated himself on the attacks and admitted to inflicting his own wounds and he was arrested on the scene. His wounds were not life-threatening.
