PELOSI LEAVES HOUSE IN “DISARRAY” FOR FAT CAT, NYC FUNDRAISER…

TROOPS AWAIT FULL, NO-STRINGS-ATTACHED FUNDING

Speaker Chooses $28,500 Donors,Champagne and “Tagliardi with Veal Ragu” Over Fully-Funding Troops in Harm’s Way

WASHINGTON, D.C. - As America’s men and women in uniform await a decision from Congress that will determine the success of their mission inIraq, Nancy Pelosi has decided that funding the campaign coffers of House Democrats is more important than funding the troops.

Apparently, the confines of the U.S. Capitol weren’t swanky enough for the San Francisco Speaker who promised to run the most “ethical congress in history” and famously declared “it will take a woman to clean up the House.” Leaving the House of Representatives in disarray, Speaker Pelosi ditched doing the people’s business in the Capitol Dome, choosing to attend a $28,500 per couple fundraiser at the posh Manhattan restaurant, Cipriani, and tending to her business in a “luxurious 16,000 square foot venue with a 70 foot ceiling with a Wedgewood Dome.”

“The House floor is in shambles and Nancy Pelosi is heading to New York for a high-dollar fundraiser at an exclusiveNew York City restaurant,” NRCC Chairman Tom Cole said. “With the upcoming vote on the most important issue currently facing our country, the Speaker should spend her time in D.C. doing what she was elected to do. Our troops serving in harm’s way deserve more than this.”

After spending all day buying votes and strong-arming her members into lock-step discipline, and spending all night swilling champagne and nibbling on “tagliardi with veal ragu…” Speaker Pelosi still hasn’t called a vote on fully-funding American troops in harm’s way. It sounds like Wrong-Dome Nancy needs to get back to work and do what’s right for our men and women in uniform.
